In our mission to provide you with the freshest most delicious seafood, we’ve just upgraded a very important piece of machinery – our ice maker.
One of the very first and most important steps in the process of landing excellent fish, is leaving port with high quality, fresh, salt ice. Before our boats leave on a fishing trip we load them up with ice which they can use to keep the fish nice and cool once it’s been caught.
We also use salt ice to help keep the temperature down when our fish is in the chiller or serving cabinet.
Although it’s not available online, you can come to our premises at 41 Centennial Drive and load up your chilly bins with ice. We charge $25 for a large chilly bin and $15 for a small one. If you are having a really big party/wedding/ice bucket challenge event etc. please let us know in advance by calling 06 751 5700 or emailing tony@egmontseafoods.co.nz and we can advise when we’ll have a sufficient volume of ice.
Please note that salt ice is not suitable for putting in your drink! It’s great for keeping bottles and cans cool, just resist the urge to drop a handful in your rum and coke.
